The World Superyacht Awards 2024

May 6, 2024

Superyacht owners and yachting industry leaders gathered at the 19th annual edition of the prestigious BOAT International World Superyacht Awards. The awards ceremony took place at the Arsenale di Venezia in Venice, Italy, May 4, 2024.

This prestigious event brought together the crème de la crème of the superyacht world, honouring the exceptional craftsmanship, innovation, and design that define this elite industry. Van Oossanen was proud to be honoured with 5 nominations: M/Y Seaflower from Mulder Shipyard, M/Y Milele from Royal Hakvoort, M/Y Ultra-G, M/Y Reliance and M/Y Sparta from Heesen Yachts.

Winners

In the semi-displacement Motor Yachts category up to 40m, the Mulder ThirtySix M/Y Seaflower secured the prestigious Neptune trophy.

The judges found a clear winner among this category’s nominees in M/Y Seaflower, built by Dutch shipyard Mulder, calling her “a truly impressive little boat”. The judges noted the high-quality build of the yacht, the tasteful custom interior and overall excellent value she presents for her size.

M/Y Seaflower is the first yacht in the Mulder ThirtySix line-up to be built to IMO Tier III emissions requirements. Additionally, she rides on a high- performance Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) from Van Oossanen Naval Architects. She boasts high efficiency, burning as little as 100 litres per hour when cruising at 10 knots, while still offering a transatlantic range. At economical delivery speed, she has a range of up to 3,680 nautical miles.

In the category, semi-displacement or planing motor yachts, 40m and above, M/Y Milele, built by Royal Hakvoort Shipyard, won the judges’ approval thanks to her “incredible build quality” and surprising spaces on board. Most notable of these is the innovative foredeck garage, which stores a submarine and crane, and has a full entertainment suite with a large television screen built into its hatch.

The design of M/Y Milele started with the naval architecture of Van Oossanen Naval Architects called upon to create a fast, efficient and comfortable sub-500GT motor yacht. M/Y Milele utilises the naval architect’s proven Fast Displacement Hull Form and Hull Vane®. But in order to reduce weight, the Hull Vane® was conceived in carbon fibre – a world’s first – instead of the typical steel.

And finally, in the Displacement Motor Yachts, 1,000GT to 1,499GT, M/Y Sparta from Heesen Yachts received the Judges’ Commendation, a recognition of the dedication and talent that went into crafting this superyacht.

We are very proud to have been an important part of the design and build journey of the award winning yachts. Congratulations to everyone involved!
